Approximately 2 weeks ago, it was brought to the YBNR Board's attention that the New Rochelle Police Department had responded to Pinebrook Park on a Saturday afternoon. Upon learning of this information, we immediately began making inquiries to determine what occurred. We learned that events triggering the police call DID NOT INVOLVE YBNR, YBNR players or YBNR parents.
It appears that the police responded to an altercation taking place on the basketball court at Pinebrook Park, which did not involve YBNR players or parents.
The safety and welfare of our players, families and spectators at all YBNR games and events is of paramount concern to the league. YBNR will continue to enforce the league's Code of Conduct, which players and parents agree to follow upon registering to participate in any baseball or softball division.
The league's Code of Conduct states that "Coaches, Parents and Spectators will be positive role models and provide a positive experience for those present." With this provision in mind, YBNR thanks all of its players, parents and spectators who attended games this past Spring season, supported YBNR players, and made this season a positive one for all involved.
We hope to you all this coming Fall on the baseball and softball fields!
